Just got back from the Pamirs. A 4 day trek, and 65+ hours over bumpy roads in taxis to get there and back. Will post photos here soon.

This is not very comforting for your mother! As close as you were to the border, there could be some of those on the Tajik side.
funny, but a little disturbing. my first thought... "oh, carol's not gonna like those signs!" I was right.
