In the next few days I will try and do a few blog posts highlighting our time with Beth. Did I mention that we had a GREAT time with Bethany during her stay with us? It was really so special to have her. Here are a few of the things we did around the city with her.
This mama LOVES this picture. We were all getting ready to go when Ella, without being asked, began to help Silas get his shoes on. So precious, am I right?
One day we went up to the preschool where our project is as well as where Ella goes a few times a week. The school...

Our staff wanted to host Beth and prepare Osh, the national dish, for her.
Another day we walked to the museum. On the way we stopped for a snack of ice cream for the girls and peroshka, or fried potato dumpling, for Silas.
He loves these things and can eat right along with the best of them. It's actually really amazing how much and how fast he can put away!

As we were arriving at the museum this mini bus full, and I really mean full of kids also arrived. Honestly, I didn't notice how funny it was right away, but of course Beth did!
The museum is now where Alexander the Great's fort was when he was here in Khujand, so it looks like a fortress. Pretty cool museum if you ask me...

And upstairs they have this floor made of glass with artifacts in sand just a foot or so below...
Silas did NOT like it. Refused to walk on it and when we put him on it, he just did this...
Gotta love this...Here is a photo of artifacts that are genuinely old, not just replicas, just sitting out; you can touch them, even break them, as some are pottery...
But here in this corner are nothing but photos of the fearless leader of the country, but notice they are roped off. What's wrong with this picture?????
Finally, we made one last stop at the nearby park to enjoy a few rides.
Silas loves it!
