Ok, so in the last post I said that one would be that installment of blog posts with Beth, but I had forgotten about one of the highlights, Iskanderkul, or Alexander's Lake. We took the road, about 5 or so hours down to one of the jewels of Tajikistan, a beautiful mountain lake named after Alexander the Great, for 2 1/2 days. Again, this post is picture heavy, so be prepared! This place is so beautiful and we had such a fun time that it was very difficult to eliminate pictures!

Stopped in a little city for lunch and found this minaret dated back to the 12th century. Probably one of the oldest things I have ever seen.

The first evening we took a small hike to this 138 or so foot waterfall. There is a little bridge-like thing that you can walk out on right over the fall with only re-bar to walk on that may be compared to the glass floor in the CN Tower in Toronto...
But you might actually question the safety of this...
Ella and Aunt Beth shared a room in the little cabins where we stayed. Needless to say there were a lot of giggles and silliness...
The next day we did a lot of chillin' and taking in the great views...

Then on our last morning we woke up early and went on a big hike. OK, let's go!

looks like you had so much fun with Bethany and you get to do so many fun little trips and hikes as a family. what great memories in the making.
also, can't believe how big Silas is getting. A little boy. not a baby any more.
