We spent the morning working on our visa registration for out time here in Tajikistan, then in the afternoon headed out to explore. Ella wanted to pose for a photo on this nice man’s lap.
The best part of the day was meeting up with two of our friends (and former teammates). The couple that I mentioned yesterday came across the border today, bringing with them much of the things that we had left behind in Uz. You may remember that Jen and I had to leave Uzbekistan in a hurry last summer under doctor’s orders – we were given two weeks to get out. At the time that we left we expected to be able to return to the same location after Ella’s birth. Fortunately, the couple that we had planned to travel with in Uzbekistan was able to get in and bring our things to us. It was good to open up old bags and remember our lives in that place. We also got some mail that had been sent to us before we knew we were leaving, but delivered after our hurried departure (remember, it took up to three months to receive mail). So, here’s a big thanks to Laurie Klein, Beth Klein, Gma & Gpa Clouse, Carra Moorman, and Matt & Melinda Edwards for sending us birthday cards, small gifts, photos, and a maternity dress (I guess Jen will have to use it for #2).
Tomorrow we plan to spend our time meeting with the couple who has invited us to start a team with them and plan the rest of our time here and any trips that we need to make together.

Okay, I am really excited about your trip and all that is going on, BUT I am also really into seeing all the photos of Ella that you post. I must say that this particular picture is positively adorable! We love you guys!
jen and aaron, i think with every picture of ella she is more beautiful than the last. you two sure have been blessed with such a good natured and adorable little girl. i am loving all the updates, thanks for taking the time and effort to do them amongst all your other happenings! have a great week.
O Ella what a joy you are! Even at half a world away you bring such joy to a grandma's heart. You truly are "Miss Personality"! Your smile lights up my day. What a rich blessing you are to us all!! Thanks for all the updates and especially the pictures of Ella. We have to agree with everyone else that the Ella pictures are the best part of the blog-- although the comments from the grandparents are great too. :) We'll continue to pray for you.
The kids and I look forward to reading your updates. Liam and Kate love looking at the pictures of "baby Ella". We are praying for you guys and so excited to hear of your adventures.
