It's probably about time we let you know that we've arrived home. We got in late Wednesday night after 36 hours of travel between Dushanbe and Chicago (that's not including the travel from Khujand-Dushanbe and Chicago-Albion). In spite of the 34 hour day that we endured (there is a 10 hour time difference), all went well, and Ella did great on the trip. A highlight was that at check-in they failed to weigh my 60 lb carry-on, something we had been a little nervous about.
16 hours after our our travels began, with still a long way to go, we were flying over Hungary when I was reminded of my uncle's comment once that Matt & Melinda live "over there", but that Aaron & Jen live "way over there".
Now if Ella would cooperate, we could finally work on getting over jet lag.
