Ella has been writing her name independently now for 6 months or so, but recently has started doing something new. Seems pretty abnormal.
She writes her name forward and then does it backwards! Does this make her unusually smart or just unusual?!?!? :)

I would vote for her being "unusually smart"! =)
I also think she is very smart just like her parents and aunts and uncles! :) But seriously, writing backwards and not being able to distinguish between b and d, etc. is quite common especially at a young age!
