We spent a week in Dushanbe last week at a conference. The kids stayed at the house we were staying at with a sitter during the day. There was a new puppy there. Ella loved the dog. I have decided the cutest thing in all the world is a cute little kid playing with a cute little puppy...
Silas had a love-hate relationship with the puppy. He desperately wanted to get near it, but then would totally freak out if the dog got close. By the end of the week, the dog would follow Silas around and grab a hold of the back of his pants. It made Silas mad. It was so cute! :)
After the conference was over, we had a family day where we went to the zoo and the park. The kids were a bit clingy after a week of seeing us go off every morning and not returning until evening, so some quality time was definitely needed. First we went to the botanical gardens and had some great photo-ops...

And the monkeys. At this zoo, there are no signs telling you to not feed the animals, as you would find at most other zoos. Instead, people feed the animals all the time, and feed them all sorts of food. Here someone threw the monkey a banana peel. Seems natural enough.

"Got it..."
"Mmmmmm.", says the monkey on the left. "AHHHHHHHH!", says the monkey on the right.

Then we went across the street to the "amusement park". Mommy and Ella rode a spinny ride...
