Mercifully, we were able to avoid a Kabul Christmas after all and arrived back home the evening of the 22nd. Khujand greeted us with a 20 hr power cut, but we were still happy to be back. When the lights came back on, the first email we downloaded was news of Jen's Aunt Denise's passing. Our hearts are broken for the family and we got out a few things that she had sent us over the years and had our own memorial service on the couch.
We've got lots to share from the past weeks in India and Kabul, but as we've not even had time to look at pictures, these posts will have to wait. We celebrated Christmas this morning, complete with video skype calls to families in America. As with the other things, photos will be forthcoming.
We just wanted to check in and let you know we are back. We will fill in the gaps more later...

So good to hear and see you all. This is one time I am so very grateful for technology. Not as good as having you here with us but amazing that I can see my grandbabies open their gifts half way around the world! Merry Christmas to all!
