holiday?

We were surprised tonight that after receiving electricity at 5pm, it did not go off at 7pm, as per usual. So here we sit at 9:30 and still have power and just don't know what to do with it anymore. We have become used to the 2 hour rationing and I even had all the candles lit at 6:55pm in anticipation of darkness. So what better to do than write a quick post in celebration?

After the lights did not turn off I wished our local family here a happy holiday, assuming that it must be a special day to get lights beyond the normal ration. They replied that we have our president to thank for the extra lights tonight - he is making a speech and wanted the country to be able to see it. Alas, we have no TV, so we will miss out on what is no doubt a Gettysburgesque address from our fearless leader.
