Its been nearly a month since we arrived home. The time has simply flown by. We have absolutely loved spending time with family and catching up with friends. I have not had much time, nor motivation to sit down at the computer to do some blogging since most of our readership we see either daily or weekly! I know, however, that there are some readers that we don't see much or haven't seen at all yet. Plus once we move to Purdue I will need to keep blogging for the Grandma's sakes, so I don't want to get out of the habit!
Before I start blogging about our time at home, let me catch you up on 4 very special days for Aaron and me while we were in Europe. Back several months before leaving Tajikistan, Aaron and Matt were skyping and talking about our plans to see them in Hungary. Since a transatlantic trip is not in our foreseeable future, Matt suggested that we leave our kids with them and have some time away. We thought that was a great idea and the break was much needed. Thankfully the kids did excellent without us and we had a terrific time, too.
We started in a historic salt mining village in Austria called Hallstatt. Its very small, but so beautiful.
Our one full day here we tried to see as much as we could. Before lunch we hiked up to the salt mines, which date back to 7,000 years before Christ, to take in some awesome views.

That same day we made our way up, via gondola, to the top of a mountain for another view. What we didn't realize is because there was a storm blowing in, it was not only so cold, but the wind was so strong it nearly knocked us off the mountain!
We did have some spectacular views, though. It was quite an adventure!
We went back down and took a wonderful 6km walk back in the rain, but didn't care one bit. It was great! :)
The next morning we started off toward Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart and also where The Sound of Music was recorded. The drive between Hallstatt and was one of the most beautiful drives we have ever seen. We stopped at this lake for a few moments. Later that night I found out that the church in the center is the Abbey where Maria goes in the movie.
We then arrived in Salzburg. We also enjoyed our time here. Beautiful city, beautiful mountains.

We LOVED Austria, but most importantly, loved our time together, just the two of us. Now, don't get me wrong, we were thrilled to get back to our kiddos, too!
